WooCommerce Subscription

Customer behavior and desires in terms of product consumption have changed in the digital age. They’re looking for new ways to engage with businesses. Consumers today have a new set of expectations. They want outcomes, not ownership. Furthermore, selling to existing customers makes sense as it is generally far less expensive than finding new customers.

The result? Businesses are changing the way they sell their products and services. Over the past 9 years, we’ve seen an explosion of new types of business models all designed to keep customers consistently engaged in long-term relationships. This is why we invested heavily in the subscription services. We do now provide an additional payment plugin for WooCommerce that integrates into the WooCommerce Subscriptions Extension to set up automatic recurring business models easily. Find out more about the features and the advantages of using wallee with the WooCommerce Subscription Extension.

WooThemes Subscription Features

With WooCommerce Subscriptions, you can create and manage products with recurring payments. WooCommerce Subscriptions allows you to introduce a variety of subscriptions for physical or virtual products and services. Create product of the month clubs, weekly service subscriptions or even yearly software billing packages. Add sign-up fees, offer free trials or set expiration periods.

The WooCommerce Subscription Extension offers a huge set of features out of the box. You can do free trials, manage your subscribers, use coupons, etc. For a complete list of the features that are offered and possible with the WooThemes Subscription Plugin have a look at the product page or the detailed documentation page.

Wallee Offers Payment Acceptance

First and foremost, wallee provides you with access to a huge set of integrated payment providers. All of them can be used to enable subscription payments as long as the payment method can be used for subscription billling.

Wallee Automates The Payment

As heard above, selling to existing customers can be 7 times cheaper than acquiring new customer. Therefore, a key feature wallee provides to you is the automated charging of your existing customers including failure handling.

wallee provides you with an fully integrated payment flow into the subscription plugin. The wallee subscription extension supports automatic recurring payments based on the stored payment information (fully PCI compliant). With automatic payments, a recurring payment is charged without involvement from the customer or store manager. WooCommerce Subscriptions triggers the payment in wallee and uses the stored payment information of the customer used to purchase the subscription.

In case the payment fails because the payment token could not be charged we default to the failure handling of WooCommerce subscriptions. This means the subscription will be put into the on-hold state and the customer will receive a renewal email in order to update his payment information.

The extension also support automatic retry of failed recurring payments. This can be used to change the default process outlined above to retry the payment multiple times and email the customer on multiple occasions to request they complete payment.

In order to showcase this to you we created a Demostore that contains a set of recurring product and payment methods. In this demo we showcase SlimPay direct debits. However, the feature is avaiable with every integrated processor in wallee and with every payment method that supports recurring billing.
